Self-worth, according to the Oxford dictionary, is "Confidence in one's own worth or abilities; self-respect." Developing your worth isn't something we really talk about, but we should. It greatly impedes on your overall self-perception and cascades into the choices you make. When hardships happen, we can read about how the downfalls of life builds character within each of us. For some, that’s encouraging and inspires motivation. For others, it doesn’t help much. So, what does help? When you realize that your worth is not tied to anyone or anything that you can lose. That’s an imperative self-revelation. The moment you recognize that, the moment you become free from life’s burdens brought on by others and entities out of your control. It’s a choice. You have the option to wake up every day and be in a better, stronger mentality than you were the day before. You have to, you know - do it, which can be the hard part. From my life lessons to offer genuine advice, here are three little known ways to help build your self-worth.

A rush of anticipation spirals from the head down to your toes. An altered routine, moving to a different state, establishing a new career, budding a healthy habit, delivering introductions to first-time acquaintances, changing your appearance, crushing that latest goal…The list continues, but all of these new experiences have a factor in common to be ambitious and thriving – confidence.
If self-confidence is developed, unpredicted chaos becomes more easily navigable. Life has its way of being unforeseen at times. It is a process – take it in stride and bravely tackle every good and not-so-good obstacle. Believe in yourself and the abilities you can so diligently master, for that’s the key to triumphing over new beginnings with grace. |
